A lace front wig is a cranial hair prothesis, which is made and applied to give you the illusion that the hair is growing directly from your scalp. Lace front wigs and full lace wigs are great for those with thinning hair, alopecia, hair loss of any sort, or to just change your look without damaging your hair. The hair on the lace wig is virgin/remy hair which has been hand ventilated strand-by-strand onto the lace wig's base. What is the difference between lace front wigs and full lace wigs?
Lace front wigs are units that are lace from ear-to-ear. Usually the rest of the cap is made out of a stretch lace or monofilament. Lace front wigs are able to be bonded from ear-to-ear. Some of our lace fronts have thin skin at the nape, this allows the unit to be bonded around the nape as well.
Full lace wigs are made out of all lace. Our stock full lace wigs are fine swiss lace around the entire perimeter and stretch swiss lace throughout the middle of the unit. This is what allows this unit to fit various head sizes. (Some of our full lace wigs do not have stretch in the cap, this would be stated in the description.)
Custom full lace wigs can be made out of all fine swiss/french/optimum lace throughout the cap. This is made for full head and perimeter bonding.
What is the difference between french lace and swiss lace?
French lace is the most durable of the two, it is best for new lace front wig and full lace wig wearers, but not as undetectable as the other laces. Swiss lace is the most undetectable of the two, but the most fragile. This is best for experienced lace front wig and full lace wig wearers. Most errors occur when removing the unit, if you have patience and remove the unit properly you will have no problem with the swiss lace as a first time lace wig wearer.
What is Optimum Lace?
Optimum lace is the most undetectable lace in the hair replacement industry. It blends right into the skin giving you a flawless and undetectable hairline and parting. It is soft to the touch, and invisible to the eye. It is a step above Swiss lace. If you are looking for a high quality, long lasting unit, that is undetectable, our Optimum Ultra Sheer Full Lace Wigs are what you are looking for.
Thin skin is a polyurethane material, used to replicate the skin and scalp. It is a great prothesis for those with hair and without. The only downfall to thin skin, is that it is not as breathable as lace. To eliminate this issue we have designed our thin skin wigs to have fine monofilament at the crown, this will allow heat to escape and air to ventilate throughout the wig.
YES, the lace wig is just like your regular hair so you can do all normal activities with it on such as swimming, showering, sweating, etc. The only time you should not get it wet is the first 24 hours after applying the unit. You must also use a waterproof adhesive (ie: Invisibond, endurabond).
What are your delivery time frames?
All of our stock lace front wigs, full lace wigs and thin skin wigs ship within 1-3 business days depending on the item. Custom coloring and adding baby hair can take up to 5-10 business days depending on how busy our technicians are.
Lace Frontals take up to 4 weeks to be made depending on the size and density of the frontal.
