You are here: Home > Custom Wig Information > Take your Head Measurements.
Measuring your head correctly is very important when ordering a lace front wig or hair replacement system.  The measurements need to be accurate to be able to ensure proper fitting.  Another great way to accomplish a perfect fit is to make a head template.

Follow the measuring steps below, be sure to use a cloth measuring tape and to measure a minimum of three times.  Your hair should
be braided or wrapped as flat as possible.

Step #1-Circumference:   Begin measuring by placing the end of the  measuring tape in the center of your  forehead.  Then start to wrap it around the circumference of your head (in back of your ear, around the nape of your neck, then in back of your other ear) all the way to where the tape meets the other end.  That will be the circumference

Step #2- Front-to-Nape:  Place the measuring tape at the front of your hairline, if you have a widows peak make sure to start it at the beginning of your widows peak.  Then hold the other end of the measuring tape right at the nape of your neck.  (If you are not sure where your nape is, bend your head back, and where your skin creases is where it should end.)

Step #3- Ear-to-Ear (across hairline):  Begin by placing the measuring tape where your sideburns end, then follow your natural hairline straight across your head to the other ear/sideburn.

Step #4- Ear-to-Ear (overtop of head):  Place the measuring tape right by the tip of your ear where you hairline is across the top of your head to the other ear.

Step #5- Temple-to-Temple:  If your temple area is extended, place your measuring tape where your hair extends the farthest on your hairline.  Then wrap the measuring tape around the back of your head, to your other temple.

Step #6- Width of Nape:  Place the measuring tape on the nape of your neck and measure from where your hairline at the nape begins and then ends.
